Nicuşor Dan: Coaliţia a convenit asupra unei tăieri de 10% a personalului administrativ local; metoda este încă sub dezbatere.

Governing coalition has agreed on a 10% reduction of the local personnel compared to the current number positions, with the behalf of the criteria still under discussion, stated President Nicuşor Dan on Thursday.
“The topics we discussed and agreed upon were divided in two sections. Firstly, an agreement and a government program were determined, including a 20% cutback on local and national state institutions, without specifying the time frame for when these will take place, which was agreed upon two months ago. Secondly, during our meeting on Monday, it was agreed that for now a 10% local staff reduction will be implemented, in comparison to the existing positions today, namely the actively employed individuals, not in relation to the organization charts or the maximum limit provided by law. The discussion over the methodology to establish a single filter for clear criteria for all similarly situated localities remains, with a decision expected in the following two weeks. Especially, the onus will lie on the Minister of Development and the Minister of the Interior to establish this procedural mechanism,” declared the President on Antena 1.
On Wednesday, the Prime Minister, Ilie Bolojan, stated that during the talks at Cotroceni, President Nicuşor Dan showed interest in the effects of the proposed package for local government reform and existing issues within the domain.
“The discussion revolved around the manner in which this personnel reduction in administration could be achieved, so it has a real effect. It was developed that by mid-month a formula will be found to enable a 10% reduction of the effective staff as a solution for budget balancing, accompanied by related reforms included in this administrative package. This was the core of our discussion. (…) This summarises the outcomes of our dialogue”, pointed out the head of the Government.
